The Business IT Guide site accessibility features
This website has been developed to a high level of conformance to contemporary accessibility best practice and advisory guidelines. Here are some of the features we have included to make the site more accessible:
Access keys
The access keys for the various sections of the site are as follows:

For visitors using Internet Explorer the following combination must be used:
Press 'alt' and the relevant number, release the keys, and press Enter.
So, for example, pressing 'alt' and '1' then Enter will direct you to the Homepage
For visitors using Firefox with Windows the following combination must be used:
Press 'alt' and 'shift' and the relevant number
So, pressing alt, shift and 2, will direct you to the Self help section.
For visitors using Firefox with a Macintosh the following combination must be used:
Press 'ctrl' then the number
So, pressing ctrl and 3, will direct you to the Guides page.
For visitors using Safari with a Macintosh the following combination must be used:
Press 'ctrl' and 'alt' and the number
So, pressing ctrl, alt and 4, will direct you to the Blogs page.
Page-loading time
We have used technologies which minimise the time taken to bring pages to you which means that pages load as quickly as possible, even when using slower Internet connections.
Contrast
We have chosen a colour scheme which maintains a high contrast between the text on the page and its background. We have also used colour and clear instructions to make it apparent where we expect people to interact with the site.
Text re-sizing
You can easily alter the size of the text on this site to make it more readable. There are two ways of achieving this:
1. If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, press and hold down your keyboard's Ctrl key and move the scroll wheel backwards and forwards. Most browsers will change the text size up and down for you.
2. Most browsers give you an option to change text size from their toolbar. In Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, for example, click on View > Text Size to see options to change text size.
Page printing
Printing any page from this site will use a simpler style than a standard web page. For example, we will automatically remove banners and menus in order to optimise the page for printing. This will make it easier for you to print pages from the site for reference later on.
Conformance
Although every attempt has been made to comply with priority 3 (AAA) guidelines, some areas of the site rely on the use of JavaScript in order to convey their meaning. If you are experiencing problems using the site, it may be that you have JavaScript disabled in your web browser. If so, here is how to enable JavaScript:
Enabling JavaScript in Internet Explorer
a) In your browser’s top menu, go to Tools > Internet Option
b) Select the Security tab
c) Ensure that the Internet Web Content Zone is selected (this will be the default selection in most versions)
d) Click the button marked Custom Level
e) Scroll down until you find the heading Scripting
f) Under the sub-heading Active Scripting, ensure that the button marked Enable is checked
g) Click OK.
Once you have completed these steps, click the refresh button on your browser.
Enabling JavaScript in Mozilla Firefox:
1. In your browser’s top menu, go to Tools > Options
2. Select the Content tab
3. Ensure that the Enable JavaScript button is checked
4. Click OK
